random medias ive consumed lately since i need to keep this blog alive

spoilers for wiege (alien stage), anora, im still here, the brutalist and conclave !!!

1st of all...the latest alnst episode. to keep things less emotional, THE ANIMATION WAS FUCKING STUNNING AAAAAAAA, SPECIALLY ON THE CLIPS OF THE MODERN AU!!! AND GOD THE COLORS IN THE SCENE WHERE MIZI AND SUA WERE SWITCHING OUTFITS. second of all...it was fucking sad. FIRST OF ALL WHY DID LUKA'S CHARACTER APPEARED SO MUCH INNOCENT AND CHILDLISH, i mean it makes sense, specially after all of my bou went throught BUT GOD. WHY. i love him sm guys. AND THE FINAL SCENE WHEN HYUNA GIVES HIM A LAST SPEECH....ngl i think the speech itself rlly speaks for luka, since he has been forced to kinda suppress his own humanity/doesnt espress it very well but....why. and his face at the end....and lets not forget mizi :D, i seriously hope she will be ok soon, even if thats unlikely. VERY VERY UNLIKELY. the song was awesome btw

second, recently me and my mom have been watching many films that are nominated in the oscars since most of them have been relasing on cinemas lately :3, here's the one we've watched so far:

the brutalist: by far my favorite out of all of them and i seriously hope this wins best picture, i rlly loved the photogyaphy (specially the use of light and shadow and the way the buildings were filmed) and the souundtrack, adrien brody's performance was so good like im impressed about the wide range of emotions that he was able to cover as lazlo is geniuenly impressive. i need to watch it again

anora: first of all, i agree with the general opinion that mikey madison's acting was spectacual there, and im also surprised about the range of emotions she's able to cover as ani. i also liked vanya's character since he's such a fucking idiot and i love him for that ;-;. that being said, the plot was kinda weak (maybe it was due to the pacing??) and it didnt really work for me until the end, which was heartbreaking but very very well made. id give it a 7.5/10

im still here: FIRST OF ALL, FERNANDA TORRES'S PERFORMANCE IS SO FUCKING GOOD, LIKE THE SUBTLE EXPRESSIONS THAT SOMEHOW NEVER GO OUT OF CHARACTER???? THE WAY SHE PORTRAYS EUNICE DEALING WITH EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED???? FOR FUCKS SAKE JUST GIVE HER HER GODDAMN OSCAR ALREADY. the movie has a slice-of-life-y structure, but soemhow manages to have a tensing atmosphere for most of the film, even in the moments that arent very dramatic, and all the characters and their dynamics very very realistic felt very realistic. msybe is bc is based on a true story but the performances helped a lot. overall a very touching film that handles its dramatic elements wondefully.

conclave: i watched this yesterday and it was very exciting. as somebody who really really loves gossip it was pretty delightful to see the whole thing unfold. ralph finnes's (is that how u spell it?) performance was also asesome sicne u can really sense he's constantly anxious for the most of the movie, and tbh i cant blame him, imagine losing someone close to you and then 0.00000005 seconds later you'll have to direct the voting for its replacement where there's a bunch of drama there...seriously who wouldn't be stressed??, the photgraphy was quite pleasing to watch 2 and im seriously relieved my boy benitez "1 vote" won <3. finally the scene where the files of bermany's (again is that how is spelled?) were revealed in the dinning room was gold, most of the cinema (myself included) laughed the fuck out of it lol.

i think we'll watch flow on sunday and a complete unknown next week and ig we'll only be missing emilia perez to finally have the right to complain about the oscars on the official ceremonies in family :3. honestly ill think we'll watch emilia perez when it arrives to netflix since 1. my mom despises musicals (except for wicked part 1 and mamma mia) and 2. it has wayyy to many mixed reviews to watch it on cinema. i honestly think i wotn like it, for obvious reasons but ig ill just sing the songs to death, and for mom...idk, because on one hand, she's the type of person who likes movies jst bc they handle controversial and strong topics, which makes sense due to the small-ish cultural panorama she has (though my dad is worse on that matter), BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, she also despises people who have a shitty spanish (ig is bc she's a lawyer) and seems to be very informed on the topics that emilia perez handles..and she's also transphobic but anyway, and as i said b4, she hates musicals...but idk, a co worker of hers watched it 2 and despite the fact i also assume he's informed and idk he really liked it, but then again he's an old rich guy so that might have smth to do with it.

finally here's a random hyunluka art i made for my online bestie on valentines <3
