promare (2019) and dog man (2025) movie reviews!!!

lumemiruuuuuuuuuuui wasn’t able to upload them yesterday, so ig i’ll do it rn :). as always, spoilers under the cut!!!

ngl i had a blast w/ this one :), i really liked the animation (nlg the best thing about the film, i specially liked its use of onomatopeya, the fight sequences and the humor there (maybe bc the movie has my same sense of humour lol), i do agree it was weaker when it was more focused on emotional moments, probably since the pacing was very fast, and some plotlines were left unsolved (for example, the one of dog man's relationship with the police man), but ngl the film has also very positive stuff that balances it out and doesnt fully ruin its experience :), but if it had a bigger emotional impact (specially on the develop between petey and dog man and lil petey, i kinda feel that on petey's part it wasnt taken as seriously, but it might be jst me) it would've been better :)

i rlly liked this film!!! first of all, the animation was simply STUNNING, the colors, the shape language, THE FUCKING EPIC BATTLES AAAA I LOVED THEM, the movement of the characters, while i do think some color palettes werent as pretty as others (the movie set VERY high standarts) i dont have anything to complain about. the movie is fucking art. i also REALLY liked the ost (why isnt it on spotify :-:?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!) and lio's desing (i want his body for me SO FUCKING BAD he's giving me such real gender expression envy lol)
regarding the story itself, the sci-fi concept was very creative and cool but i do think the story went very fast, enough to reduce its emotional impact but still slow enough ti make u feel smth, even if it was underdeveloped. the characters suffer from this too, galo changed his feelings about the burnish a little too fast..ik he's supposed to be a character that doesnt hurt people and always advocates for good but still, idk. lio's character was slightly more well developed but i do thing his relationship with galo was kinda rushed, but still, all the moments they shared together were very very sweet so ig is ok :), arguably the most intresting character is kray which im happy about, i just wish that he wouldnt have been beaten that fast, specially after how much they struggled with him. no but seriously the sci fi concept was awfully cool. overall a very good film, would definetly watch again. now i wanna draw lio SO BAAAAD ;-;
